Love this place! Went in last week to replace an old padlock for my front door and get some keys made. The store has an amazing selection! I don't really know what I'm doing and I'm so glad the staff was so eager to help and guide me to the right direction! Definitely coming back if I need to fix anything else. I think they fix window screens too.

Huge selection of basically everything you need for home improvement/repair. Nancy is super friendly and knowledgeable and offers to order anything they might not have. Even takes time to throw in a tip on how to use things properly. The other half of the store has a good selection of toys which even includes Melissa & Doug brand items. Prices are really good for a neighborhood store and saves me the further trip to Home Depot. Definitely coming here first.

I normally don’t post reviews, but O…M…F…G… I was at my wit’s end and flipping my lid before I decided to go Bell Hardware, it SHOULD have been the FIRST PLACE to go to get keys made. I was showing a prospective renter a rental unit I had recently listed. The day before, I made a set of keys at another local hardware store, they were only able to make 2 of the 3 keys I had, because they didn’t have that particular type of key in stock. So later that night I went to The Home Depot to get it made since it’s on the way home. Apparently their automated key copy machine was unable to read that key and advised me to go to see an associate at the key station. I went there and had the associate was also unable to get their machine to scan the key properly to cut. So they told me, they’re going to override the machine to get the key made. I was like, OK, great! So I got the key made with a slight difference at the tip of the new key that didn’t have the same grove as the old key. The associate said that it should be fine and thought I was all good. So the following day when I met up with the client, the first key got us into the lobby. The second key unlocked of the door locks to the unit. Then, I tried the third key… the knob wasn’t turning. So I jiggled and fin-angled inserting the key and turning but to no avail. It was the most important key to get into the unit, it locks the door knob. So to make a long story short, I couldn’t get into the unit and embarrassingly had to tell client that the set of keys I just had copied the night before isn’t working. So we had to reschedule for another day. I had to apologize profusely, because never in my life had I had an issue like this. Later that day, I didn’t go back to the original hardware store because they didn’t have the key in stock to cut, so I googled for another hardware store in the area and found Bell Hardware. I called to asked if they made keys and the lady that answered the phone said that they do.

Bell Home & Hardware is the true neighborhood friend who answers all your hardware needs. Nancy has been so helpful to us over the years, taking her time to explain processes, tools and whatnot to help us better understand each hardware issue we have. Their knowledge and expertise is a true gem to Bayside!

Hands down the best hardware store in the neighborhood. Not only do I always find what I need but the owner is very knowledgeable and helps me with any questions I have. I never feel rushed and the owner clearly cares. Also gives me great tips and ideas for future projects. You don’t get this kind of customer service at the bigger commercial hardware stores. This place is a gem!

Nancy is fantastic—she always knows exactly what I need for my day-to-day handyman projects. I’ve had keys made here several times, and she gets them done quickly and efficiently every time. It’s great having a neighborhood shop where the owner is knowledgeable, friendly, and truly helpful. Highly recommend this Bayside hardware store!

Bell Hardware is one of the last true neighborhood hardware stores and it shows. They always have what I need in stock, even the random stuff the big chains never carry. Nancy, the owner, is incredibly helpful and honestly one of the best in the business. The place is convenient, the service is personal, and the prices are great. Shops like this are rare now and I’m glad they’re still here.

BH&H is my go-to shop for home supplies! Owner Nancy is incredibly knowledgeable and honest. I am proud to support this local business. Just to give you an idea, here are some things I've bought at Bell Hardware at very completive prices: *Washer when my plumbing job went sideways *countless tools and wrenches *snow shovel that is still going strong *potting soil/mulch *hand cut keys and locks *viral O-cedar spin mop + bucket *countless last-minute birthday gifts, such as toys and art supplies *bug traps *cleaning supplies Why use Amazon and wait 2 days when you can have the item you want for the same price in your hands immediately?? Also, you can't put a price on experience. It is valuable to be able to confer with experts on my home projects. They are incredibly honest, salt-of-the-earth people and have given practical advice on countless home improvement projects! The owner is a Notary Public as well. 10/10 would recommend this shop. I am proud to call myself a patron.
